The HypnoBirthing® course is an enjoyable and relaxing course which will give you a thorough physical and mental preparation for a comfortable experience of childbirth.

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO OFFER CLASSES FOR MOST OF 2011, PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE A RECOMMENDATION FOR OTHER HYPNOBIRTHING TEACHERS

During four 3 hour classes you and your birthing companion will:

  • be given exercises to practice – on your own and with your birthing companion – to ensure that you feel really confident in your ability to relax and give birth easily.
  • watch inspiring videos of women birthing with comfort and ease - not  screaming, cursing, or begging for drugs
  • learn techniques to deepen your relaxation and be given the necessary knowledge on how to work with midwives and other medical staff so you don't have to concern yourself with anything apart from your own relaxation.
  • release anxieties or fears you may have about giving birth – or any previous traumatic birth experience.

Why I teach HypnoBirthing

I teach HypnoBirthing® to first time and existing parents to help them and their babies experience natural and comfortable birthings. I became interested in the benefits HypnoBirthing when my wife became pregnant, and was amazed at how effective it was in the natural birth of our daughter. By this I mean my wife gave birth calmly and comfortably without any need for pain medication (including oxygen and air) and goes on record as actually enjoying the experience. She liked it so much, that our second child was born using HypnoBirthing, again, no pain medication and this time in our conservatory at home.

Nick and MaiaAs a birthing partner I felt I was totally involved in the entire experience from the first scan all the way through to the actual birth.

HypnoBirthing® provided my wife and I with a  set of effective tools, extremely useful information and most importantly the mindset and confidence to expect the best birthing experience possible. This positive experience led me to want to share this wonderful philosophy and set of techniques with other parents.

HypnoBirthing® is gaining more and more popularity in the UK, and I was amazed by how many midwives from the NHS were on the course when I studied it.

As a parent who has experienced HypnoBirthing, both as a birth partner and a teacher, I feel that over and above the normal training, I am well placed to give parents the benefits of what I have experienced. I am also able to provide a useful insight for birthing partners.

As a practicing Hypnotherapist and Solution Focussed Therapist, I am able to help with any other issues outside what the HypnoBirthing® training covers. This includes things such as dealing with the fear of needles and other common phobias, which when removed can make a big impact in feeling more relaxed about giving birth.
